NCTC To Offer Summer Acting & Directing Classes

If you are intested in acting or directing, we have a class this summer just for you!

The classes, for adults only, will begin the week of June 1st and will last for eight weeks. Spencer Jordan, a high school drama teacher, will be teaching the acting class. The class will be Wednesday evenings beginning at 7 pm. The class is titled Step Out of Your Shoes and Into the Shoes of the Character.

The directing class will be taught by Trey Stephens. Stephens has been directing with NCTC for a few years now and is currently one of the leaders of the N.I.T.W.I.T.S. comedy troupe. The directing class, Intro Step Into The Amorphous Job of Directing, will be held on Thursday evenings at 7 pm.

The cost is $40 per person, per class. Payment is due the first day of class. Class size is limited. To sign up for either class, email NCTC Artistic Director Darren Mathews at dmathew1979@yahoo.com. Include your full name, address, email, and contact phone number. Any questions or comments can be directed toward Mathews.

The final date to sign up for either class is May 25th. The classes will conclude with an evening of short performances. The directors will work with the actors, under the supervision of Stephens and Jordan.

NITWITS Time!

Yes, it's time once again for our favorite (okay, our only) improvisational troupe to return to the mainstage. The NITWITS are so popular they will now be performing both Friday and Saturday evening. Of course I recommend you come on Friday to avoid the usual Saturday night crowd.

The dates are May 8 and 9. Both performances will begin at 8 pm. Reservations are not taken for the NITWITS. It's open seating too, so I recommend you arrive around 7:30. The cost is only $5 at the door.

The evening's hosts will be Heather Hyde and Jeff Allen.
