Our New Seating!

We are so excited to have purchased new seating for our main stage! Look at how thickly cushioned they are. They are comfortable and wide.

We were very lucky to find these seats for a great price. Now it's time to pay back the NCTC treasury for the chairs. Would you like to "buy" a seat? We will be recognizing those who contribute to the seating fund with a plaque in our lobby, if you contribute at least $25. Everyone will know exactly who to thank for the great seats! Donations can be sent to Newnan Community Theatre Company, PO Box 275, Newnan, GA 30264.

We also need some strong hands to help unload the seats. If you can help us out, email us. We'll be taking delivery of the seats on a Saturday within a week or two.

The main stage does need to be reconfigured to accomodate the seats, but we hope to have them installed by the first of the year. Let us know if you would like to help with getting them installed.

We've been looking into new seats for quite awhile now, so this is very exciting news!

Misery Canceled

Unfortunately, we are not going to be able to perform Misery this fall. We have learned from Samuel French, the licensing company for the play, that the rights have been frozen. This is due to the fact that they plan a Broadway revival of the play.

Therefore, auditions scheduled for Monday and Tuesday are canceled. We are looking into alternatives for our November season show and we'll announce any details when they become available.

This does not affect Zombie Prom. Auditions are being held this coming Tuesday and Wednesday for that show.

Don't forget...Jimmy Dean opens tonight!

Jimmy Dean Sneak Peak

Here's a picture from rehearsals for Come Back to the 5 & Dime Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean by Ed Graczyk. The show opens this Friday at NCTC and runs for two weekends only.

In the early 1950s, James Dean captivated audiences. He was young, handsome, and starred in a variety of films. His career came to a sudden end just four years later when he died in a car crash.

The fictional story is about a group of teenagers who formed a James Dean fan club, which they called The Disciples of James Dean. Dean came to their small town to film a movie, Giant (one of his better known films). Twenty years later, in 1975, the club reunites.

The show is being directed by Darren Mathews. It is part of our 2009 Season. Reserve a seat today or purchase your tickets via our website.
